Parse is a bill-splitting app that helps groups of people divide a restaurant check. We take your privacy seriously and have designed the app to collect as little data as possible.
Parse does not collect, store, or share any data that is linked or linkable to your identity. Specifically, we do not collect:
Parse requests access to your device's camera solely to photograph restaurant receipts. All image processing (OCR text recognition) is performed entirely on-device using Apple's Vision framework. Receipt images are never uploaded to any server.
When a host creates a bill-splitting session, a temporary session document is written to Google Firebase Firestore. This document contains:
This data is not linked to any account or persistent identity. Sessions are ephemeral and intended only to facilitate real-time coordination between diners. We do not use this data for any other purpose.
Session data in Firebase is temporary and not actively retained. We do not maintain databases of user activity or sessions.
Parse is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children.
